Garmin Nuvi 1300 LMT GPS

The Garmin Nuvi 1300LMT GPS is a mid range portable gadget for regular users with several useful features. It is very slim and can be easily hand carried.

Specifications:

The Garmin Nuvi 1300LMT GPS has a wide vibrant TFT touchscreen. You can see it easily in the bright sunlight or darkness. The 4.3 inch widescreen display allows you to view larger pictures, map details, photos and driving directions more clearly in bright and brilliant colors.

You can use it for getting directions and viewing 3D maps and pictures. The device has advanced user interface features and graphics. The 480 x 272 pixels screen resolution gives a more clear picture. It has an inbuilt rechargeable lithium-ion battery, which can run for four hours. It has an expandable memory with an SD card.

Salient Features:

It features Text to speech, Voice prompts for directions, FM traffic alert and lane assistance, which are very useful for navigation. In addition, it is furnished with a photo navigator and a picture viewer. The device also includes the normal features such as world clock, currency converter, measurement converter and a calculator.

Other Features:

Garmin Nuvi 1300LMT has a built-in FM traffic receiver. You get lifetime free traffic signals. You can view traffic details on-screen and avoid problem areas such as accident scenes while driving. Moreover, you get nuMap lifetime map updates that ensure you will have the latest mapping on your navigator all the time.

It also offers you pedestrian navigation capability with CityXplorer maps that cover major cities of US and Europe. These maps cover Suburban bus transport and trams. You can use them to explore more efficient routes to go to new places. These are most helpful when traveling in a city which has a public transportation system. You get updates of routes and timings regularly.

The innovative eco-Route feature also helps you to easily select your route away from traffic or obstructions and travel only on the suggested routes. There is also the option to choose a more economical route that will save you fuel and time.

The Nuvi 1300LMT has a helpful text to speech capability. The display touch screen and its text to speech feature together can show you the route to any targeted destination. The device announces the names of upcoming roads and turns and guides you through voice to take a turn. There is no need to look at the maps while you are driving which means you can keep your eyes on the road. You also get alerts about congestions or blockades.

The "Where Am I" feature in Garmin Nuvi LMT like other Nuvi GPS models will not let you get lost. You can know your exact location. Your device is preloaded with city maps. The Hot Fix Satellite system provided in the gadget can tell your correct location and the coordinates. You can also select the shortest route to any planned destination.

In addition, you can also find important POIs (points of interest) like a hospital, restaurant, police station or a gas station closest to you and can also find about the roads, lanes, crossings or important buildings near you.

Possible Shortcomings:

You must admit there is a lot to like about the Garmin Nuvi 1300 LMT GPS, but it also has a few possible shortcomings as well. There is no provision to mount it permanently; you do not get any alerts for speed limits; when you look for a POI, a big balloon will show you the POI and block the screen; the gadget does not come with a mini USB cord to synchronize it with your PC; and there is no Bluetooth integration with your mobile device.
